Hardware Requirements

• Computer with minimum Pentium 4 or compatible processor
• Minimum 25 MB of RAM
• Minimum 128 MB disk space required for a full installation, which includes temporary setup files that are removed at completion of install
• CD-ROM drive or Internet connection (required for installation only)
• Monitor with minimum 1024x768 resolution, small fonts
• Mouse

• Windows 2000 Professional SP4 or later, Windows XP Professional SP1 or later, Windows Server 2003
• Internet Explorer 6.0 or later

Note: Windows Administrator privileges are required to install Quest Central Explorer. Quest Central Explorer does not install on a Windows NT client.

New in this Release

Updates to Quest Central Explorer v3.0:

• Response Time - The refresh rate and product launch time are much improved.
• New Name - Quest Central Explorer is the new name for the former Quest Database Management Solutions product.
• Double-click a Tool - Launching tools now requires a double-click, which conforms to the standard Windows operation. A single-click highlights the tool's related features and documents without having to keep the mouse over the tool.
• Launch Additional Products - New products added to the Oracle context include Quest Code Tester and Capacity Manager for Oracle. New products added to the DB2 context include SQL Optimizer for DB2.
• Products Removed - You can no longer launch the following Quest products from Quest Central Explorer: Quest Notification Server, Notice Board, Quest Central for Databases, Database Analysis for SQL Server, and the Foglight console. 
• Default Icons - When adding a new user tool, Quest Central Explorer displays the tool's default icon in the Tools section. If a selected tool does not have an icon, a Quest Central Explorer icon displays instead. The icon drop-down and Browse buttons were removed from the Add/Edit Tools Entry dialog.
• Updated Content - Performance Analysis, SQL Optimizer, Space Manager and Capacity Manager for Oracle include new features, updates and enhancements. Refer to the Release Notes for these products for details.
